Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Will not play their home matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026 because the stadium has been declared unsafe for large-scale events. This descision followed a tragic stampede durung RCB’s IPL 2025 victory celebrations at the stadium, where 11 people died and over 50 were injured. The Karnatka government appointed commission found the stadium’s design and structure unsuitable and unsafe for large gatherings, leading to the stadium being deemed “unsuitable and unsafe” for events like IPL matches and the Women’s ODI World Cup matches initially scheduled there.

As a result, RCB must find alternative home venues or IPL 2025-6. Potential Stadiums being considered include.

- Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara
- Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
- ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam
- HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala
- DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai
- MCA Stadium, Pune
- Green Park Stadium, Kanpur
Among these, the VCA Stadium Nagpur and Greenfield International Stadium Thiruvananthapuram are often highlighted as strong candidates due to their facilities, capacity, and proximity considerations. The incident occurred during victory celebrations inside the Chinnaswamy Stadium after RCB won their first-ever IPL title in 2025.
