Scoring a century in international cricket is always special, but doing it in the Asia Cup carries extra weight. The tournament brings together the best teams from the subcontinent, where rivalries run deep and the pressure is sky-high. Only a handful of players have managed to rise to the occasion and convert their innings into three figures consistently. These centuries are not just numbers—they’re moments etched in cricketing history, remembered by fans for their impact and brilliance.

Top 5 Batsmen with the most centuries in Asia Cup

    1. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – 6 Centuries

Sanath Jayasuriya, the Sri Lankan legend, sits at the very top with 6 centuries in just 25 matches. Known for his fearless batting at the start of the innings, he was a nightmare for bowlers when field restrictions were on. His 130 off 132 balls against India in 2004 is still remembered as one of the most aggressive yet composed knocks. Jayasuriya’s dominance in the Asia Cup remains unmatched.

    2. Virat Kohli (India) – 4 Centuries

Virat Kohli, often called the “chase master,” has smashed 4 centuries in Asia Cup ODIs. His ability to anchor an innings and accelerate when needed makes him a standout performer. His iconic 183 against Pakistan in 2012, the highest individual score in Asia Cup history, was not just a century—it was a statement.

    3. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) – 4 Centuries

Known for his elegance and composure, Kumar Sangakkara matched Kohli with 4 centuries in 24 Asia Cup matches. Unlike power hitters, Sangakkara relied on timing and placement, building his innings with patience. His two centuries in the 2014 edition played a massive role in Sri Lanka lifting the trophy that year.

    4. Shoaib Malik (Pakistan) – 3 Centuries

Shoaib Malik is often under-rated but he became one of Pakistan’s most reliable performers in the Asia Cup. He scored 3 centuries in 17 matches. Malik proved he could be a game-changer not just a steady player in the middle order.

His 143 against India in 2004 was typical of Malik: calm under pressure and aggressive when needed. It’s one of the most celebrated innings in the Asia Cup.

    5. Lahiru Thirimanne (Sri Lanka) – 2 Centuries

Lahiru Thirimanne might be a surprise name on this list but he takes the fifth spot with 2 centuries in Asia Cup cricket. He made the most of his chances. He was at his best in 2014. He was also the top scorer.

His runs came at a time when Sri Lanka needed stability at the top of the order. He provided that stability with a maturity that was beyond his age.
