This victory, the first for captain Shubman Gill and India’s 122nd triumph at home, is ranked among the top 3 of elite cricketing nations who have dominance in their backyard.

5) 95 – West Indies (270 Matches)

West Indies have suffered their 10th loss in a row to India in Tests, and still, their glamour in Whites is not diminished. The Caribbean team has been a part of 270 Test matches and has recorded 95 wins at home with 101 matches being drawn. Their win/loss ratio is 1.283 which corresponds to a success rate of 35.2% on their home ground.
Recently, however, their home performance was not upto the mark. They faced a clean sweep at the hands of Australia in the last Test series: 0-3, drew the 2-match series with Bangladesh and lost the series to South Africa.

4) 121 – South Africa (254 Matches)

South Africa has secured 121 victories in Tests played at home out of 254 matches since 1889. They have 77 losses and 56 drawn matches in their stats. The win/loss ratio registered is approximately 1.571, which translates to a home success rate of nearly 47.6%.
In January 2025, South Africa played their last home Test against Pakistan, where they marked it with a powerful win.
