David Warner is 5th on the list with 18 Player of the Match awards. He took Sunrisers Hyderabad to the title in 2016, scoring 848 runs. Overall Warner has scored 6565 runs with a strike rate of 139.8 and an average of 40.52. He also holds the record for most fifties (62) in the tournament.

4. Virat Kohli – 19
The RCB superstar has been around since the IPL started in 2008. With 8661 runs, Kohli isn’t slowing down. He’s tied for 4th place with 19 Player of the Match awards. Kohli has carried RCB for years, as players have come and gone without winning a trophy. If Kohli keeps batting like this, he definitely has a shot at topping this list. Besides his 19 Player of the Match awards, Kohli also has a Most Valuable Player of the Season award, so he’s ahead of Warner.
3. Rohit Sharma – 21
Rohit Sharma has 21 Player of the Match awards, the most among Indian players and 3rd overall. He’s probably the most winning captain in IPL history, with Mumbai Indians winning 5 titles while he was the captain. The innings Rohit plays can really mess with the other team’s chances. This big hitting batsman has scored 7046 runs in the league, averaging 29.73 with a strike rate of 132.1
2. Chris Gayle – 22
Chris Gayle, the ‘Universe Boss’ has been one of the most consistent T20 cricketers. If Gayle scores big, his team rarely loses. This left-hander has won 22 Player of the Match awards. He has 4965 IPL runs with a strike rate of 149.0. He’s hit a record 6 centuries and 31 fifties in the tournament so far.
1. AB de Villiers – 25
Like MS Dhoni, AB de Villiers made a name for himself as one of the best finishers in T20 cricket. This South African superstar has won 25 awards in the league’s history, the most by any player. He has scored 5162 runs in 170 innings with a strike rate of 151.7. He retired from cricket in November 2021.
